Your tax dollars at work

Federally funded "pregnancy resource centers" are incorrectly telling women that abortion results in an increased risk of breast cancer, infertility and deep psychological trauma, a minority congressional report charged yesterday.

The report said that 20 of 23 federally funded centers contacted by staff investigators requesting information about an unintended pregnancy were told false or misleading information about the potential risks of an abortion.

(snip)

Molly Ford said, however, that she agrees with pregnancy counselors who tell women that abortion may increase the risk of breast cancer, infertility and a condition described by antiabortion groups as "post-abortion syndrome."

"We have many studies that show significant medical problems associated with abortion," she said.

Those studies are at odds with mainstream medical opinion. An expert panel of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), for instance, concluded in 2003 that an "abortion is not associated with an increase in breast cancer." The experts said their conclusion was "well established" by the evidence.

- Washington Post

Read the whole article to get a sense of the dishonesty and shamelessness of these people.

And remember how the Republicans were going to restore "honor" to government after Bill Clinton, you know, got that evil bob job?

I guess lying through their teeth - about matters of health no less - doesn't count in that whole restoring honor thing.

Then again, this is the crowd that lies about evolution and denies global warming, and, oh yeah, told us we were going to be greeted as liberators in Iraq. Let's just say telling the truth ain't one of their strong points.

The ends justify the means for these people which is the exact opposite of what so called christians should believe in

And how many poor women liostened to their crap and believed it and went ahead having a baby they couldn't afford or care for. Thats sad.

Those studies are not defining and the counselors at the health clinics are absolutely right in advising women that killing their babies can also kill them. I would take the word of a health counselor over someone like Henry Waxman a moonbat Democrat congress man any time! What does he know about womens health or what causes cancer? Its so typical that you and your followers automatically say its the counselors lying instead of Waxman.

What the hell??? Did you even read the same article bally 107? How can you say that? It quotes a report from the American Cancer Inst that said "abortion is not associated with an increase in breast cancer. The experts said their conclusion was "well established" by the evidence." I'll take their word over some dopey operator working at one of these clinics, who is spreading lies.

Pebbles don't try to have a serious debate with bally 107. She's been on here before and just talks about baby killing and calls people names. Don't waste your time.

Anonymous said...

Oh thats right "anonmous" dont waste your time reading anything about baby killing just keep following your ideas instead of listening to someone with a differnt view. No wonder your side is losing.

Bally 107 there is NO CONNECTION BETWEEN ABORTION AND CANCER. NONE. What part of that don't you understand and why do you think we have to bend our science knowledge to fit your religious beliefs? I don't care how strongly you believe them or how often or how loudly you say them, it doesn't make them right.

Shut up bally you sound like an idiot.

Pebbles don't let her get you so angry, they do that to try to get the pro-choice side seem intolerant or just frustrated. No-one could be that dense unless they are doing it on purpose surely!

Hey Bally 107, I have a serious question here. Not about abortion because I know I'm not going to change your mind and you're sure as hell not going to change my mind on that topic. So let's leave it aside for a minute. Why do you just pop your head up if the subject is abortion? Is that the ONLY thing you care about in this world? It can't be. Even if you feel so strongly about it, even if you feel it's somehow "murder" don't tell me you don't want to comment on subjects he's posted about like global warming or George Bush or drinking lol. I know those or others like them are topics that you have opinions on too. What's the deal? I'm seriously not trying to be rude here. I actually would like a real non-political answer. Thanks.

I wish all of you would just ignore her, she wants this attention. How about the actual article that was the subject in the first place and the news that government agencies are telling LIES to women seeking information about abortion. I find that stunning and feel sad for my country. And I find it disgusting that people who are supposedly so moral will resort to LIES to try to get their way. That's the real issue here and it shouldn't be forgotten because of some asshole making noise.

Memphis red, she won't answer your question, and if she does, she'll say it's because she has better things to do with her time than comment on other things besides abortions. I've tried to ask her several serious questions about things other than abortion, and she won't answer them. She just disappears for awhile, then comes back to lecture us about how we merrily kill babies.

So, don't bother. Seriously. I know it's hard. Just do what I do, and laugh at whatever she says. She is obviously not very educated in the real world, otherwise she would actually be able to debate, and not just call names and run away hiding.

Shayna and Not A Hipster, I know what you're saying, but the thing is she and people like her are increasing their power in this country. They control the White House, Congress and they've got 2 more votes on the Supreme Court in the last few years. If one more judge dies or retires while Bush is still in office we WILL lose Roe-Wade and choice. That's why I can't ignore Bally 107 and what she stands for. These people want to control my life and my very body. We ignore them at our own peril!

Did you see this part in that newspaper story - The pregnancy resource centers, which are often affiliated with antiabortion religious groups, have received about $30 million in federal money since 2001, according to the report, requested by Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.)

Why is my tax money going to religious groups? What happened to seperation of church and state? Or is that just not valid anymore under George Bush?

You know what pisses me off about the "psychological harm" argument that anti-choice people spew? Like the article said, there's no more a chance of that happening as the result of abortion as there is the chance of it happening as a result of giving birth.

Millions of women suffer from post-partum depression, many severely enough to even harm their own children or themselves. So by that theory, they should be advocating against women even getting pregnant in the first place, lest they suffer from "psychological harm."

Give it the fuck up, and trust in people to do what is right for themself. Republicans drone on and on about personal responsibility, then tell people they're not responsible enough to make their own decisions.

I'll ask this question of Bally yet again, even though I know she's too much of a whiny conservative to answer:

If your husband raped your daughter, and she got pregnant, would you force her to give birth to her own sibling?

Come on, bally, don't be a pussy, asnwer it! I've been asking you that question for months.

memphis red even though your friends dont want you to even admit I exist I will tell you yes I care about other topics too but the only one I feel compelled to discuss on a place like this is the killing of innocent babies. I know they talk about global warming but that's just a theory and lots of scientists dispute it. And if someone questions George Bush and mocks his intelligence they are no doubt anti-life and I really could care less about jbk and his friends and their drinking habitts. It doesnt suprise me thats all they do. But when they talk about killing babies then I will speak up and no one here can stop me from expressing my opinion. As usual the lib way is to drown out anyone who dares disagree with their views but thats just not the way it works. notahipster and mephis red can try to make me go away all they want but unfortunately for them I represent a lot of Americans who dont take the taking of life so simply.

Ok first, Bally 107, what the hell are you talking about? I didn't tell you to go away. I asked you a real question. And you somewhat answered it, but your response, to be honest, was pathetic. I really don't care if you stay or go, but I have no more interest in engaging you in any kind of discussion with that kind of response.

memphis red, bang your head against the wall, because it will be better than trying to talk to her. I know you want to try, but it really is futile. Notice how we each askd her a question, and all she did was whine about how we want her to go away. I've told her many times that I don't want her to go away, I want her to actually answer questions and debate.

To bally107:
PLEASE express your opinion. PLEASE answser questions. PLEASE engage in some kind of debate. We truly are interested in that.

But don't be a pansy by just bitching about people enjoying a glass of wine. Answer our freaking questions!

Anonymous said...

Oh dear, it's the same old arguments with the two sides shouting at one another and past one another and another poster said it - no-one is going to change anyone's mind on a topic like this. Why do we still have these posts?

Anonymous said...

Im sorry memphis red if my answer didnt somehow please you. You asked me what I thought about those other topics and I told you. Im sorry if it doesnt meet your high and mighty standard. And not a hipster you ask the same stupid unreal question every time and I have answered it before and if you dont take note of it too bad. I dont have time to waste on it over and over. You say all I do is call names? No I express my opinion which is my right to do so. Youre the one who calls me whiny or a p---y. Who is the one name calling? Why dont you just go drink some wine now ok?

Anonymous said...

No Bally 107 it's nothing to do with meeting my "standard" as you call it. It's simply that I actually expected something more intelligent than - I don't care to comment on those issues on this blog where they talk about drinking or whatever. Why then do you feel you have to talk about abortion here? That's a rhetorical question by the way (do you even know what that means?) because now I don't really even care about your answer.

Anonymous said...

lol oh sweet god, the word not a hipster used was PUSSY bally 107. Are you really afraid to type it out? Your President used SHIT in front of the prime minister of England. But I guess it's ok if Bush does it, right?

Anonymous said...

I think just about everyone on this blog would agree pussy is good. :)

Not a hipster said...

No bally, it's not an unreal question, because it DOES happen. And no, you've never answered it.

If I am mistaken, can you please point me to the post where you did answer it? Because I am really interested in hearing your answer.

Anonymous said...

lol not a hipster you told me a little while ago not to bother trying to get a straight answer from her and now you're trying it! :)

Not a hipster said...

I know....I'm calling her out on her lies. :)

See, what'd I tell ya? Silence from her.
