Wings and beer vs. an hour of Bush? Oh yeah, tough decision.

I just couldn't bear to watch Smirky McChimp's speech, Tuesday night, so I met up with some buds at Blondie's. Fortunately, most of my friends could care less about politics at any time. We scarfed copious amounts of Buffalo wings and pitchers of Stella, and even with 82 TVs in the place, not a one was tuned to Boy George. Thank God for mindless sports bars.

But, alas, I'm home now and see CNN is already repeating big chunks of the speech, so I may watch some after all. I'm going to read accounts of it, anyway, in the online editions of the Times and WashPost, and if I have any profound – or at least cruel and insulting - thoughts, I'll let ya know.

Urp.

I share your sentiments. I just can't bring myself to sit and watch him yammer away for what would seem like an eternity. Like we don't already know what he's going to say (blah blah blah terrr...blah blah blah national security...blah blah blah taxes...). And frankly, I can do without all the verbal tics and smirks and snickers. Jackass. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.
