She shakes her little tushy on the catwalk

Fashion Week kicked off Friday night in the city and moi went to a show and an after party at Rockefeller Center, courtesy of a friend who works for one of the monthly glossies. Lots of tall, skinny girls with amazing cheekbones and addictive personalities. Oh my.

The whole scene is a surreal but pleasant distraction in which to be immersed, at least for a little bit. But I have to ask, have you ever tried to have a conversation with some of these girls? I mean a real conversation that gets beyond: “Oh, that bitch (and here just imagine hearing the name of a C-level celeb or a model I honestly have never ever heard of), who does she think she is, this chardonnay is terrible, oh, you work in TV, I've done soaps before, where do you winter?”

Um, unfortunately New York.

The actual shows themselves are quite bizarre. They are over in about 20 minutes, and the models strut down the runway wearing clothes that I have never seen anyone wear on the street, or even at a “glamorous” event. Who actually buys these things?

But, hey, it's a fun thing to be in the middle of once in a while.

And for those cynics (and you know who you are) who perhaps call me shallow, who would snarkily imply that I would, of course, love a 19-year-old Brazilian fashion model, let me just say - how bigoted. I would love a 20-year-old Argentinian catalog model just as much.

Yeah, I know - hard to believe I'm not in a relationship these days, huh?

No it's not surprsing to me. The only thing that surprises me is that you werent doing cocaine too, besides drinking. Or do you just not write about that?

I think Bally just is trying to get people all excited and defensive. Who's talking about cocaine? Um, that's right....BALLY 107. Maybe that's why she's so paranoid about anyone being liberal. HAHAHAHA. Thanks, Bally. I'll fall asleep tonight with a smile on my face, courtesy of you. :)

If you havent heard that the fashion world is filled with cocaine addicts not a hipster perhaps you shouldnt be making any comments on it at all. Again, its like your views on abortion, you dont quite get it but you think that you are somehow qualified to just give everyone else your opinions.

Oh, I know that the model world can be filled with drugs. But correlation is not causation. Just because JBK was there does not in any way imply he was partaking in any activities such as those. As any intelligent person knows. That's where the smile is coming from.

I enjoy reading his blog, which is what most people do. Like me, most people have blogs to talk about their own thoughts and opinions. Obviously you just want to insult. But hey, whatever gets you off.

Its interesting, when a conservative wants to make a comment its somehow an "insult" but when you or JBK or others make a comment, well its just honest political views, right? This is why you people always seem surprised when the Republicans wins the presidency, you seem to think that everyone agrees with your views but guess what they dont!

Bally 107 you really don't want to go there talking about winning the presidency do you? Let's be honest here. The Democrats won the presidency in 1992, 1996 and – yes, 2000. We won the popular vote in all of those elections, including 2000 with Gore over Bush by about 600,000 votes. Except for the electoral college and the Supreme Court crap we would have had the White House in 2000. Some think there was even corruption going on in 2004 too, but even if not, you can't seriously claim that somehow America is overwhelmingly Republican and conservative. When you look at the issues, its pretty evenly split between both sides, and it seems to me a lot more people like the liberal views on a lot of issues.

By the way bally, I dont care what your politics are but I used to live in New York and I know jbk and he doesn't do coke, he doesn't even smoke - but he does love his jack & coke- right jbk haha :)

Why is it that no matter what the subject is it becomes a discussion about politics or drinking? I don't get it.

I don't think it always becomes that, I've seen it on other web sites. I just think there are always people on blogs or the internet who like to provoke arguments. and if they are called on it they become very defensive.
