According to the New York Daily News, Diane von Furtsenberg previewed her Fall collection last night at Fashion Week, and her inspiration: Melanie Griffith in "Working Girl."
Huh?
Working Girl, as in the big poofy hair? From Staten Island? The New Jersey of New York?
Do these designers try to annoy us?

Another jab at Jersey?
anonymous - some may say it's a jab at Staten Island. Or even raccoons.
I always thought she looked cute in that movie, especially when she wore her sneakers with her work clothes.
Sorry, I hate that sneakers with a skirt look. I know its big in NY, but if women here tried it they would be getting funny looks all day long.
Yes but you probably drive from your home to your job. In NY, we walk to the subway, then up and down the subways steps on each end (so there's at least 4 times a day) and then usually have to walk some more blocks to our offices. It's easily a couple miles. You can't do that every day in heels.
you can wear comfy boots or even Uggs in the winter, flip flops or sandals in the summer, and flat shoes in fine weather. There's never a reason to wear sneakers with a suit...
Damn you, girls. How did this become a shoe discussion, instead of a making fun of Staten Island discussion. With a bonus making fun of New Jersey thown in for good measure, no less.
Ok ok, crikey! If it makes you feel any better, one of my criteria for men I'll date is that he can't be from NJ. Maybe I'll cut out some fine gentleman, but I ain't moving to the Garbage State, I mean, Garden State. I know I'll get a lot of derision from my fellow readers, but we all have standards! And senses of humor, I hope ;-)
Crikey? Who says crikey?
Back to shoes - Uggs are about 2 years ago. At least here in the city. Sorry
anon. thats good you won't date any NJ men, who cares and that just leaves more for me and my friends to choose from. NY guys are no prizes, I've went out with plenty. I'll take a Jersey boy ANY day of the week. They know how to treat a lady, and they have cars. Anytime I go to the city the guys won't even spring for a cab. I am not riding that disgusting subway, sorry. So I'm glad youre such a snob.
Gotta love the defensive!
Oh no beachgirl, I bet all the NY boys are going to be heartbroken that you won't go out with them any more. Let me guess what beach you're from - Seaside?
NY men are full of themselves. All they talk about is their job or their money. At least in Jersey the guys are real. anonymous said she wont date anyone from NJ. Perfect. Keep it that way, hun.
NJ guys are real. Real mooks!
Hey anonymous. Why dont you give your name since your so better than every one else. Why do you have to hide behind anonymous? And I bet you are the real prize. NJ men probably wouldnt even look at you. They like real women, not snotty little babies.
My "name" - like pink sidekick is your name? First of all I havent written all the anonymous posts here so I don't even know which one you are talking to. Can I call you pink by the way? lol
Thats typical of NY girls. You hide behind a wall. And you think NJ men would even want to look at you? think again. Oh, and I'm not from Seaside and why should I tell you where I live.
Can you go back to arguing about shoes again.
Hi, I was out blogging and found your site. It certainly got my attention and interest. I was looking for bath information and even though this isn't a perfect match I enjoyed your site. Thanks for the resd!
